Product Listings Video Maker For Etsy Sellers

Effective date: 21 September 2026

This extension is not created, endorsed, or affiliated with Etsy, Inc. “Etsy” is a trademark of Etsy, Inc.

What this extension does

The extension reads the Etsy listing page you have open, lets you pick listing photos, and encodes a silent MP4 on your computer. You download the file and upload it in Etsy’s listing editor yourself.

Data the extension handles

When you click Use this listing, the extension copies this from the current page into Chrome session storage on your device:

  • listing title, price, and shop name
  • listing URL and listing id (when present on the page)
  • URLs of listing photos

When you make a video, the extension fetches those photo files from Etsy’s image host (i.etsystatic.com) into memory as data URLs so they can be drawn into the video. Fetches use credentials: "omit" (no Etsy cookies).

Session storage is cleared when you click Remove, or when the browser session ends.

This is website content from a page you chose to use. It stays on your device except for the cases below.

What we do not collect

The developer of this extension does not run an account system, analytics, ads, or a backend for this product. Listing text, photos, and finished videos are not uploaded to servers we control.

We do not sell data. We do not use listing content for advertising.

What leaves your device

Etsy image files. Your browser requests listing photos from i.etsystatic.com so they can be encoded. That is the same kind of request a listing page already makes.

Encoder license telemetry. Video encode uses a bundled client-side encoder (@remotion/web-renderer) with licenseKey: "free-license". On each encode (success or fail, not if you cancel), that library sends a telemetry request to Remotion for license checks. Remotion documents that this includes:

  • the license key string (free-license)
  • your IP address
  • whether the encode was a video or a still
  • production vs development
  • the page origin (chrome-extension://…)
  • success or failure

Remotion states they do not collect video content or listing metadata. See Remotion telemetry.

Aborted encodes do not send an event.

Permissions

Permission Why
storage Save the listing you chose in chrome.storage.session until you make the video or remove it.
activeTab Read the tab you have focused when you open the popup.

Chrome Web Store Limited Use

The use of information received from Chrome APIs and from pages you open will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Listing data is used only to build the video you asked for and to operate that feature.

Children

This product is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

Updates to this policy will be posted at this URL with a new effective date. Material changes that affect how data is handled will also be reflected in the Chrome Web Store privacy disclosures.
